You know, so many “gurus” told me just make a blog and the targeted traffic will come. I don’t mean no name, nobody heard of them gurus. I’m talking about real pros.
Then they told me, just get some content up. Anything is better than nothing. Have you heard that?
Then what happened on your blog?
I bet I know the answer. It’s nothing! No one came to visit. No one left any comments. You made zero sales!
This all happened to me. My showcase blog, YourTrafficStarterBlog, was not an instant success. Not even close. It is one of the parts of developing TrafficStarterPro.
I was given that opening line over and over. How stupid was I to keep listening to it. I never got traffic, never got sales simply by writing more and more in my blog.

I have been using the internet forever. Not so much interacting with it, more like a bee, buzzing from site to site collecting whatever little pieces of information that I might be looking for. I just recently started blogging and I had no idea what I was getting into. I thought that if I submitted my blog url to the search engines that I would get indexed, Not True! I thought “If I blog it, they will come”, Not True. This is a much more complicated thing to do then I had ever imagined. So now I am spending all my time trying to create some backlinks and list my blog with directories when I really just want to write in my blog. It has really taken the fun out of this. If I could just get indexed the other people who share my interests could find my blog. I am not trying to make money, just connect with other people that are interested in a fresh look at a fun subject.
I look forward to getting down to nuts and bolts of what it is that you’re talking about here so that I can implement it to increase my traffic

I’ll add this to your comment, Brian, about not trying to make money…
Getting traffic and getting a following is going to cost you money, one way or the other. Just the ability to automate specific traffic sources costs money. Once it’s in place, it won’t necessarily cost you.
I don’t pay directly for any of the traffic to my main blog “Your Traffic Starter Blog.” But I did pay for it in other ways.
So, I would encourage you that if you are going to be a serious blogger, you also monetize your effort. Believe me, no matter what niche your in… if you are providing good information and content, people will pay for it.
Your blogging doesn’t have to be a time consuming, money draining effort when it can at least bring back the cash it costs to run it.

thanks for the excellent post. It is so true.. you cannot just start a blog and expect the traffic will come. We have to drive traffic to our site. If we do not do this by creating backlinks, content alone will not be enough.
I’m certain most that have tried blogging were told the story line “post it and they will come.”
Quality content is powerful. But not knowing what is quality in the world of attracting highly targeted viewers sends you down a path of great frustration.
Of course, backlinks alone are not enough. Your traffic results are a combination of things done right. That’s another reason TrafficStarterPro was created, to ensure you can start right.

Very good article. You always get told content..content…content.. There is a lot more to that. I used to believe in that but found methods that are more effective. Great post here. Thanks.
Well, content alone isn’t going to win for you.
But don’t mistake that content isn’t important. It is very important, and it’s quality is vital to your readers sticking around. The problem is, most Gurus, like I state in the post, used a method of telling you to write anything just to get you started.
That, I experienced, to be a very bad method.
That is why I line up everything first … niche, keywords, business model, traffic method, etc before I even let you post a comment. It is far more effective.
